Employees get access to the Move To Happiness platform to boost, at their own pace, their physical, mental and social wellbeing
Remote first – Planning according to work-life balance
PeopleWare creates quality, low-maintenance, scalable software for companies that want more than standard software. The software developer continues where for others the end-meet lies. And that same philosophy is carried through to their employees.
Wim Lambrechts, HR director at PeopleWare
“PeopleWare has long believed that job satisfaction and productivity go hand in hand. For example, PeopleWare resolutely goes for remote first. The things that need to be done and their corresponding deadlines are agreed upon. Afterwards, employees can autonomously plan their work and day according to their personal work-life balance.” Tells Wim Lambrechts, HR director at PeopleWare.
COVID-19 puts wellbeing extra high on agenda
“Welfare may have been high on our priority list for some time, but COVID-19 challenged the PeopleWare team greatly. During this period, we organized a lot of follow-up meetings with our employees and they confirmed that they were having quite a difficult time. That’s why we participated in “the fittest company,” which was very positively received. The goal was to make as much physical progression as possible with the entire company. The first seed was planted! After 12 weeks, this journey came to an end and we wanted to continue the positive vibe.
As many as 73% of employees participate
“The biggest challenge remains motivating employees – voluntarily, in their free time – to get started with the online Move To Happiness programs. Not an easy task, but in the meantime 73% of our employees are already participating! The fact that Move To Happiness provides ready-made communications on a monthly basis certainly helps to maximize engagement. Super fun is that the monthly themes are always aligned with the seasons. In March, for example, at the change of the hour, they highlight the program “The Power of Sleep”. Now, in the summer, healthy vacation food 😉
In addition to the digital tools to support our internal communications, there are also physical incentives. At the start of our Move To Happiness journey, each employee received a starter box with more info about the different programs and some healthy goodies. Curiosity was immediately piqued.
The user-friendly Move To Happiness platform is much like a Netflix navigation
And that challenge is immediately a plus! Because the fact that employees can get started online and anonymously with programs on mentally related topics just makes it approachable. As an employer, we can facilitate something without the employee having to fully expose themselves to us.”
Quick follow-up and adjustment
The collaboration with Move To Happiness is going very smoothly! Monthly, we sit together to analyze participation figures and define action items. Kenneth and An, our contacts, are incredibly open to feedback. A good feature as a start-up, there is quick switching and adjustment. That gives confidence towards the future!”
